Strumming
There is no strumming pattern for this song yet. and get +5 IQ
This is my first attempt at this. So bear with me.
There were a few that were close but not quite right so I decided to give it a try.
Note that the only difference between chorus 1 and 2 is the very last word.
Also, I know the chords don't show it, but I think they keep the
B and E strings fretted at the 3rd fret (past the capo) for the first 4 chords of
this progression.
Just listen and do whichever sounds best to you!

[Intro]

G G/F# Em7 Dsus C Cmaj7 Cadd9 C X2

[Verse 1]

G G/F#
Disappear from your hometown
Em7 Dsus C Cmaj7 Cadd9 C
Go and find the people that you know
G G/F#
Show them all your good parts
Em7 Dsus C Cmaj7 Cadd9 C
Leave town when bad ones start to show
G G/F#
Go and wed a woman
Em7 Dsus C Cmaj7 Cadd9 C
A pretty girl that you’ve never met
G G/F#
Make sure she knows you love her well
Em7 Dsus C Cmaj7 Cadd9 C
But don’t make any other promises

[Chorus 1]

    G Am
The weight of lies will bring you down
    C D
And follow you to every town
      G Am D Dsus D
Cause nothing happens here that doesn’t happen there
   G Am
So when you run make sure you run
   C D
To something and not away from
      G Am D
Cause lies don’t need an aero-plane to chase you anywhere

[Interlude]

G G/F# Em7 Dsus C Cmaj7 Cadd9 C

[Verse 2]

I once heard the worse thing
A man could do is draw a hungry crowd
Tell everyone his name, pride, and confidence
But leaving out his doubt
I’m not sure I bought those words
When I was young I knew most everything
These words have never met as much to anyone
As they now mean to me

[Chorus 2]

The weight of lies will bring you down
And follow you to every town
Cause nothing happens here that doesn’t happen there
So when you run make sure you run
To something and not away from
Cause lies don’t need an aero-plane to chase you down

[Interlude]

(Repeat Intro)

G G/F# Em7 Dsus C Cmaj7 Cadd9 C X2

(Repeat Chorus 1)

[Chorus 1]

    G Am
The weight of lies will bring you down
    C D
And follow you to every town
      G Am D Dsus D
Cause nothing happens here that doesn’t happen there
   G Am
So when you run make sure you run
   C D
To something and not away from
      G Am D
Cause lies don’t need an aero-plane to chase you anywhere

(Repeat Chorus 2)

[Chorus 2]

The weight of lies will bring you down
And follow you to every town
Cause nothing happens here that doesn’t happen there
So when you run make sure you run
To something and not away from
Cause lies don’t need an aero-plane to chase you down

Good, but what is the fingering for the G/f# chord? Chord diagrams just shows a G

play it like a regular G, but on the (thickest) E string, play 2nd fret instead of third fret. So 2/2/0/0/0/1
