[Intro] A*, G*, D, A

A G*
Lovely Rita meter maid
D A
Lovely Rita meter maid

[Verse 1]

D C G
Lovely Rita meter maid,
D A
Nothing can come between us.
Bm E7 A7
When it gets dark I tow your heart away.
D G*
Standing by a parking meter,
C F
When I caught a glimpse of Rita,
D A7
Filling in a ticket in her little white book.
D G*
In a cap she looked much older,
C F
And the bag across her shoulder
D A7 D Bm E A
Made her look a little like a military man.

[Verse 2]

D C G
Lovely Rita meter maid,
D A
May I inquire discreetly,
Bm E7 A* G* D A
When are you free to take some tea with me?

[Solo] D C G D A Bm E7 A7

[Verse 3]

D G*
Took her out and tried to win her.
C F
Had a laugh and over dinner,
D A7
Told her I would really like to see her again.
D G*
Got the bill and Rita paid it.
C F
Took her home I nearly made it,
D A7 D Bm E A
Sitting on the sofa with a sister or two. Oh

[Verse 4]

D C G
Lovely Rita meter maid,
D A
Where would I be without you?
Bm E7 A
Give us a wink and make me think of you.
A G*
Lovely Rita meter maid
D A
Lovely Rita meter maid
A G*
Lovely Rita meter maid
D A
Lovely Rita meter maid

[Ending] A* D

I really liked this! Good for beginners, fine for just the heck of it.

So what exactly is the key the Beatles use? I've got it between A and Bb, but closer to Bb from the CD track...
