A
Mary, this station is playing every sad song
F#m
I remember like we were alive
A
I heard and sung them all from inside of these walls
F#m
In a prison cell, where we spent those nights
A
And they burnt up the diner where I always used to find her
F#m
Licking young boys blood from her claws
A
And I learned about the blues from this kitten I knew
F#m
Her hair was raven and her heart was like a tomb.

They tune their guitars down to D and play this song open using the chord shapes C, Am, F, G.

Yeh, I realize it's tuned down a full step but the translation I created works almost perfect (I say almost but I haven't played a part that sounds off). It's also easier to throw a capo on the first fret than tune down a full step (a lot of people see alternate tunings and don't bother).

F# is actually F#m. Just thought I should tell you.
