[Intro]

G Em (repeat)

[Verse 1]

G
I was born in a town where the rivers flow free
C
On a January night when the cold winds freeze
G
I got an Irish name and an injury
D Em
Blessing and a curse cast down on me
G D Em
Ain't nobody got the blues like me
C D G
Ain't nobody got the blues like me

[Verse 2]

G
Was a blood red sky on the morning tide
C
Was a cold wind blowing when I left that night
G
And the morning bells rang, alright, alright
D Em
Shoulda stayed home with you that night
G D Em
Ain't nobody played the fool like I
C D G
Ain't nobody played the fool like I

[Bridge]

C
Things got bad and things got worse
Em
Half like blessing, half like curse
C
It's these blessings so hard to see sometimes
Em
Gotta little clearer about dusk last night
G D Em
Ain't nobody got a blessing like mine
C D G
Ain't nobody got a blessing like mine

G D Em
It's a red sky night and I'm doing alright
C D G
It's a red sky night and I'm doing just fine

[Harmonica Solo]

Em G (repeat)

[Outro]
G D Em
It's a red sky night and I'm quite alright
C D G
It's a red sky night and I'm doing just fine
G D Em
It's a red sky night and I'm doing alright
C D G
It's a red sky night and I'm doing just fine

Can anyone help me with the strumming pattern for this song please?

I think this should also be tuned down a half or a whole step. Sounds a little high to me.

As for the strumming pattern, pat354, it's a nice country rhythm and is fun once you get it down. A bit more advanced if you're a total beginner, but I'll explain it best I can.
You first strike the bass strings, then all 6 strings quickly afterwards. There's a slight pause, then strum up-down-up (quickly).
Then repeat!
You do that 4 times for each one-chord line in the verse (like "I was born in a town where the rivers flow free")
Then on lines like "It's a red sky night and I'm quite alright," you do that strumming pattern I talked about once for the G. The D inbetween goes like this: down-down-up. Then do the normal pattern twice for Em.

Hope that helps!
