[Verse 1]
C
Woke up at eight, started the fire
G
had a few drinks, we all felt inspired
Am
jumped in the stream, our shoes and canteens
F
the water was bitter cold
C
Laid in the raft till it started moving
G
the current just sang, the song was so soothing
Am F
we stopped along the way
Am F
on a beach in the sun, on a beautiful day

[Chorus]
Am F C D/Am F
Our boats collide, we'd feel the breeze
     Am F C D/Am F
We'd stay afloat and make the most of everything

[Verse 2]
C
By noon we had swung the ropes in the woods
G
missed all danger, snakes, and the floods
Am
burnt by the rays and next to our legs,
F
the water so bitter cold
C
Lunch had been saved along with the lighters
G
wet cigarettes serve us as reminders
Am F Am F
never trust a man with the food, change of clothes, and a drink in his hand

[Chorus]
Am F C D/Am F
Our boats collide, we'd feel the breeze
     Am F C D/Am F
We'd stay afloat and make the most of everything
    Am F C D/Am
The sun would set, the stars would shine
    Am F C D/Am
the trees would shake, we'd all feel fine
      Am F C D/Am F
Let's take the moon and make it shine for everyone

[Bridge]
G
We laughed away the sunburn
F C
as we laughed away the day
G
What we lost means nothing
F/Dm
for the memories will stay...

[Verse 3]
C
Caught the last bus with no time to linger
G
the driver seemed to be missing a finger
Am F Am F
I turned and looked away to the bus, gravel road and a beautiful day

[Chorus]
Am F C D/Am F
Our boats collide, we'd feel the breeze
     Am F C D/Am F
We'd stay afloat and make the most of everything
    Am F C D/Am
The sun would set, the stars would shine
    Am F C D/Am
the trees would shake, we'd all feel fine
      Am F C D/Am F
Let's take the moon and make it shine for everyone
      Am F C D/Am F
Let's take the moon and make it shine for everyone

This is my acoustic cover of it which received numerous requests for a tab (which is why I posted this tab) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xneqpliodLU&fmt=18

What exactly does D/Am refer to? I know D, and Am, but I don't know what you mean. Sounds wicked good otherwise!

At the beginning of the tab I tabbed the chords. The D/Am is...
