Capo 2

G Cadd9
Foals in winter coats
                    Am
White girls of the North,
F C
File past one, five and one,
               C
They are the fabled lambs
     D
of Sunday ham,
     Am
The EHS norm

                 G Cadd9
And they could float above the grass
               G
in circles if they tried
    F C
A latent power I know they hide

              C
To keep some hope alive
        D
that a girl like I
       Am
could ever try,
            G
Could ever try

   Em C D
So we just skirt the hallway sides
                 Em
A phantom and a fly
E C D
Follow the lines and wonder why
There's no connection

G Cadd9
A week of rolling eyes,
                          Am
and cheap shots from the trite,

F C
And we're off to Nemarca's porch again,
           C
Another afternoon
            D
with the goat-head tunes,
      Am
And pilfered booze.

             G Cadd9
We wander through her mamma's house
                   G
The milk from the window lights
         F C
Family portrait circa '95

              C
This is that foreign land
        D
of the sprayed-on tans
       Am
And it all feels fine
              G
Be it silk or slime

Em C D
So, when they tap our Monday heads
                    Em
Two zombies walk in our stead,
E C D
This town seems hardly worth our time

     Em C D
And we'll no longer memorize or rhyme,
                   Em
Too far along in our climb

           E C D
Stepping over what now towers to the sky,
With no connection

G Cadd9 D
Oooh waooooooo waooooooo
(repeat 4x)

Em C D
So when they tap our Sunday heads
                    Em
Two zombies walk in our stead,
 E C D
This town seems hardly worth our time

    Em C D
And we'll no longer memorize or rhyme,
                 Em
Too far along in our crime,

           E C D
Stepping over what now towers to the sky,
With no connection

G Cadd9 D
Oooh waooooooo waooooooo
(repeat to fade 8x)

Should be Capo 2, and some of the lyrics are wrong.

last line of verse one is "The EHS norm"

"Another afternoon with the goathead tunes" should be
"Another afternoon with the gold-haired tunes"

"To zombie-walk in our stead" should be "two zombies walk in our stead"

Otherwise good

Thanks for the feedback. I got the lyrics from a lyrics site on the web. Admittedy, they didn't sound quite right...
