Going to the Chapel of Love
from The Shirelles

*** Hi! Here is my first tab ever. I think I've done a good work though! It's an
easy and funny song to play, so have fun! ***

Tuning: Standard - No Capo

(It starts a capella)

Going to the chapel and we're gonna get married

Going to the chapel and we're gonna get married
D
Gee I really love you and we're gonna get married
Em A D
Going to the chapel of love

D
Spring is here, the-e-e sky is blue wo ho ho
Em A Em A
Birds all sing as if they knew
D D7
Today's the day we'll say I do
          Em A D
And we'll never be lonely anymore

Because we're
D
Going to the chapel and we're gonna get married
Em A Em A
Going to the chapel and we're gonna get married
D
Gee I really love you and we're gonna get married
Em A D
Going to the chapel of love

D
Bells will ring, the-e-e sun will shine wo ho ho
Em A Em A
I'll be his and he'll be mine
D D7
We'll love until the end of time
          Em A D
And we'll never be lonely anymore

Because we're
D
Going to the chapel and we're gonna get married
Em A Em A
Going to the chapel and we're gonna get married
D
Gee I really love you and we're gonna get married
Em A D
Going to the chapel of love
Em A D
Going to the chapel of love
Em A D
Going to the chapel of love

(Fade)

End.

Enjoy!

First two lines D -A. Just for your info, mate..
it was the Dixie-Cups that did this one. I don't
think the Shirelles ever did this one. (Correct me
if I'm wrong.)
It hit #1 on REDBIRD Label in 1964.
HOWEVER, excellent job on the tab, mate..
especially for the first one. KK.

(End of each verse: sounds like a B7 to me, not a D7; I also hear/prefer A7). But this is the best tab I've found to date (Sep 2017)

Intro Chorus: D, Em A7 x2, D., Em A7 D... D-G! D,
Verses: D., Em A7 Em A7, D B7 Em A7 D, A7 D; Chorus etc.;
Coda: Em A7 D repeat
