Regarding the tuning: this tuning is the only one which allows for note-for-note transcription and is therefore the most likely to be correct. At the end of each bar you hear two "throw-away" notes being played (they're open G and B strings in my tab). These notes are really only playable in this tuning unless you make some extremely strange stretches and fretboard leaps. Obviously you can ignore these notes if you like but their very existence on the recording is evidence of the stated tuning.I know that Billy (and indeed Fleetwood Mac) plays the song live with a capo on the 3rd fret in standard tuning and has done since the release of Pisces Iscariot but the album version was recorded using an alternate tuning. The recorded version cannot be played 100% accurately with the capo method (which isn't all that important because either sounds fine!).There are some instances where the B and E strings are played simultaneously using the same note (the third fret of the B string and the open E string, for example in the 3rd bar) in the same way that the 5th fret of the B string would sound the same as the open E string in standard tuning. You can hear this "chorused" sound on the recording and attaining this sound is impossible using the more commonly accepted capo tuning.Any thoughts on this are welcome!
