THE SMITHS: “THIS NIGHT HAS OPENED MY EYES”
Chords by Ney Young

[Verse 1]
Bm F#m7 Bm F#m7 G Dmaj7 G Dmaj7
In a river the color of lead Immerse the baby's head
Bm F#m7 Bm F#m7 G Dmaj7 G A
Wrap her up in the News Of The World Dump her on a doorstep, girl

     Em Bm A
This night has opened my eyes And I will never sleep again

Bm F#m7 Bm F#m7 G Dmaj7 G Dmaj7
You kicked and cried like a bullied child A grown man of twenty-five
Bm F#m7 Bm F#m7 G Dmaj7 G A
Oh, he said he'd cure your ills But he didn't and he never will

[Chorus]
Em Bm A
Oh, save your life Because you've only got one

   G Dmaj7 A G
The dream has gone But the baby is real Oh, you did a good thing
   G Dmaj7 A G
She could have been a poet Or, she could have been a fool Oh, you did
a bad thing
A Em D A
And I'm not happy And I'm not sad

[Verse 2]
Bm F#m7 Bm F#m7 G Dmaj7 G Dmaj7
A shoeless child on a swing Reminds you of your own again
Bm F#m7 Bm F#m7 G Dmaj7 G A
She took away your troubles Oh, but then again She left pain

[Chorus]
Em Bm A
Oh please, save your life Because you've only got one

   G Dmaj7 A G
The dream has gone But the baby is real Oh, you did a good thing
   G Dmaj7 A G
She could have been a poet Or, she could have been a fool Oh, you did
a bad thing
A Em D A
And I'm not happy And I'm not sad

This tab really isn’t correct at all. None of the chords are not correct considering that there is supposed to be a capo on the second string if you wanted to play something that sounds kinda like this song then this is the tab for you
