Keep that fire a-goin’, the sun is comin’ soon.

[Chorus]

D G
There's plenty of wood around.

When I’m old and grey, and these two hands are worn ,
                               D G
Cross me over Jordan, Lord and I’ll keep Heaven warm.

[Chorus]
G
I will swing my axe, don't let the flames go down,

D G
There's plenty of wood around.

Bayliss and Cope have their guitars in drop D. This is essentially how I play it with a couple of minor exceptions. I'd like to figure out how they are playing it because in the videos and watching them live, they are doing it differently.

A few other songs on the album are in drop D. Not sure why they are making it hard on themselves with this one, because it is in G. But you are right, nonetheless. See this video and notice how Bayliss has to play contorted chords because he is in drop D (but doesn't need to be)

Maybe he is just comfortable in this tuning so he stays with it

I've seen them live three times and been very close to the stage twice. I've watched Wes and Rowdy very closely. I guess their tuning is more about preference. Drop d does help with the deep sound of the d chord.
