Heart In A Cage - The Strokes
Tabbed by: Brock Lucchese
Email: Bropark08@aim.com

This is what it sounds like to me. I hope this is right, if you have any questions or
somethings wrong email me or comment. Make sure you use the capo on 1, or it will sound terrible.

Tuning: Standard w/ CAPO on 1

Em-Bm-Em-Bm-Em-Bm-A7-Bm (<--Play chord pattern 2 times)

---Intro can also be played like this

[Verse 1 w/ Chorus]
Well I don't feel better
         G D
When I'm fucking a-round
And I don't write better
         G D
When I'm stuck in the ground
So don't teach me a lesson
        G D
Cause I've already learned
Yeah the sun will be shining
     G D
And my children will burn
       Bm G D
Oh the heart beats in its cage

Em-Bm-Em-Bm-Em-Bm-A7-Bm (<--Play chord pattern 2 times)

[Verse 2 w/ Chorus]
I don't want what you want
        G D
I don't feel what you feel
See I'm stuck in a city
      G D
But I belong in a field
            Bm G D
Yeah we got left, left, left, left, left, left, left,
Now it's three in the morning and
   G D
You're eating alone
       Bm G D
Oh the heart beats in its cage

Bm E A G#
All our Friends, they're laughing at us
Bm E A G#
All of those you love you mistrust
Bm E A G#
Help Me i'm just not quite myself
Bm E A G#
Look around theres no-one else left

[Verse 3 w/ chorus]
Bm G D
I went to the concert and I fought through the crowd
       Bm G D
Guess I got too excited when I thought you were around
            Bm G D
Oh, he gets left, left, left, left, left, left, left
    Bm G D
I'm sorry you were thinking I would steal your fire
       Bm G D
Oh the heart beats in its cage
        Bm G D
Yes the heart beats in its cage

        Bm G D
And the heart beats in its cage.

That's it...I hope that sounds good. I think some parts are a little off, but for the
part it sounds good to me.

it probably would work if you used a capo like i said. those are the same notes except instead of having to play power chords, with the capo you can use chords

i play it power chords without a capo its much easier as you can do this

just keep ye hand in a power chord position with your little finger doin the extra notes
