[Verse]
                     G Bb F G
Well, I'm finding it harder to be a gentleman every day,
        Bb5 F G
All the manners that I've been taught have slowly died away.
F (one strum, let ring) N.C
But if I held the door open for you it wouldn't make your day.

[Break]
G G G G G G G G G Bb F Bb5 Bb5 Bb5 Bb5 A5 G
G G G G G G G G G Bb F Bb5 Bb5 Bb5 Bb5 A5 G

[Verse]
G Bb F G
You think that I care about me and only me,
     Bb5 F G
When every single girl needs help climbing up a tree.
F (one strum, let ring) N.C
And I know it don't take much to satisfy me.

[Break]
G G G G G G G G G Bb F Bb5 Bb5 Bb5 Bb5 A5 G
G G G G G G G G G Bb F Bb5 Bb5 Bb5 Bb5 A5 G

[Verse]
C (one strum, let ring) Bb (one strum, let ring) G
Maybe it's whatever's in my hand that's distracting me.
Bb (one strum, let ring) C (one strum, let ring) D5
But if I could find the emotion to stimulate devotion well then you'd see.

[Break]
G G G G G G G G G Bb F Bb5 Bb5 Bb5 Bb5 A5 G
G G G G G G G G G Bb F Bb5 Bb5 Bb5 Bb5 A5 G

[Verse]
G Bb F G
Well I'm finding it hard to say that I need you twenty times a day,
        Bb F G
I feel comfortable so baby why don't you feel the same?
F (one strum, let ring) N.C
Have a doctor come and visit us, and tell us which one is sane.

[Break]
G G G G G G G G G Bb F Bb5 Bb5 Bb5 Bb5 A5 G
G G G G G G G G G Bb F Bb5 Bb5 Bb5 Bb5 A5 G

[Verse]
G Bb F G
I never said I wouldn't throw my jacket in the mud for you,
        Bb F G
But my father gave it to me so maybe I should carry you.
F (one strum, let ring) N.C
Then you said you almost dropped me so then I did,
                          G* (slow strum)
And I got mud on my shoes.

Bb and Bb5 sound exactly the same. Why even use different chords?
It seems like most White Stripes tabs don't match what Jack is actually playing in videos. Is this due to pedals and how he changes things up live?

I don't know shit about guitar...just curious

You can play either way, it's just easier to move across the fretboard during the song using this way.
