B|-------3---3---------|-------3---3----------|

    Dm G Dm G F Bb F A
A butcher, yes that was my trade, but the King's shilling is now my fee,
    Dm G Dm G F G A Asus2 A
A butcher I may as well have stayed, for the slaughter that I see,
          Dm G Dm G F Bb F A
And the preacher, in his pulpit, sermoned,"Go & fight! Do what is right!"
   Dm G Dm G F G A Asus2 A
But he don't have to hear these guns, & I'll bet he sleeps at night!

   Am Dm Dm/C G/B Bb
And I--------, and I can't stop shaking, my hands won't stop shaking,
    Dm Dm/C G/B Bb
My arms won't stop shaking, my mind won't stop shaking,
   Am G(type2) G4 G(type2)
I want to go home,
         F Cm7/Eb Cm6/Eb Cm/Eb D/A
Please, let me go home------------------, go home!

        Dm G Dm G
e|-------1---3---------|-------1---3----------|
B|-------3---3---------|-------3---3----------|
G|-------2---0---------|-------2---0----------|
D|---0---0---0---3--2--|---0---0---0---3--2---| (Repeat this riff)
A|-----------2---------|-----------2----------|
E|-----------3---------|-----------3----------|

   Dm G Dm G F Bb F A
And I have seen a friend of mine hang on the wire, like some rag toy,
      Dm G Dm G F G A A Asus2 A
Then, in the heat, the flies come down, and cover up the boy,
         Dm G Dm
And the flies come down in Gommecourt,
    G F Bb F A
Thiepval, Mametz Wood and French Ver-dun,
         Dm G Dm G
If the preacher he could see those flies,
            F G A A Asus2 A
Wouldn't preach for the sound of guns!

   Am Dm Dm/C G/B Bb
And I--------, and I can't stop shaking, my hands won't stop shaking,
    Dm Dm/C G/B Bb
My arms won't stop shaking, my mind won't stop shaking,
   Am G(type2) G4 G(type2)
I want to go home,
         F Cm7/Eb Cm6/Eb Cm/Eb D/A
Please, let me go home------------------, go home!

The above tab is not, and was never intended by me to be used as a ukulele version, (which can obviously be seen from my chord legend at the bottom) it is just a cut & paste job by someone at UG of my guitar tab. I wish ultimateGuitar had never decided to do this with so many tabs, I think ukulele players deserve a proper ukulele tab, so you will find a more appropriate tab in Version 2.Thanks to whoever gave it a 5 star rating here, but it doesn't even get credited to me, so please use the next version.
