Intro: Am x8

        Am
All you great men of power

        Am5
you who boast of your feats

    Fmaj7 F
politicians and entrepreneurs

        Am Am5
can you safeguard your breath in the night

while you sleep

          Fmaj7 F
keep your heart beating steady and sure

       G
as you lie in your bed

         G(000434)
does the thought haunt your head

          Am5 Am6
that your really rather small

           Am5 E
if there's one thing I know in this life

               Am
we are beggars all

Am x8

        Am Am5
All you champions of science and rulers of men

        Fmaj7 F
Can you summon the sun from it's sleep?

         Am Am5
Does the earth seek your council on how fast to spin?

        Fmaj7 F
Can you shut up the gates of the deep?

          G G(?)
Don't you know that all things hang as if by string

     Am5 Am6
over darkness, poised to fall?

           Am5 E Am
If there's one thing I know in this life, we are beggars all

Am x8
        Am Am5
All you big shots who swagger and stride with conceit

          Fmaj7 F
Did you devise how your frame would be formed?

            Am Am5
If you'd be raised in a palace or left out on the streets?

              Fmaj7 F
Or Choose the place or the hour you'd be born?

        G G(?)
Tell me what can you claim not a thing, not your name

        Am5 Am6 Am5 E
Tell me if you can recall just one thing, not a gift, in this life

        Am5 E
Can you hear what's been said, can you see

                      Am
now that everything's grace

      Am6
after all

           Am5 E Am
If there's one thing I know in this life, we are beggars all

thrice plays most of their songs a whole step down. he's playing an Am barre chord but it's slid a step up from the 5th fret to the 7th because of the tuning. if you want to play that way, tune to DGCFAD, switch to the barre chords then move them a step. same thing. the chords are not off.

Completely wrong, unfortunately. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=v-CiSVxCWzw Maybe you should watch that, mate. Look at his fingers. Lol. You're way off. Doesn't even sound right.
