You can get the specific sound in the song by using a phaser (or a wah wah pedal, maybe).
Difficulty: | beginner |
---|---|
Tuning: | D A D G |
Capo: | no capo |
This is basically the entire song, it's in a drop-D tuning
I think he uses a phaser effect but I'm not quite sure
G|-------------------------------------------------------|
D|-----9--------5------6------3------1-------------------|
A|---9--------5------6------3------1---------------------|

A|---9--------5------6------3------1---------------------|

[Bridge 1:16 (actually only piano I believe)]
G|-------------------------------------------------------------------------|
D|----------------------------------------------------------------------6-5|

D|4--------------------------------------8-6--------------|
A|--4----------------1----2---2/4-2---------9-8-6-4-3-2-1-|

and then back to the original riff

Moogerfooger low pass filter. (Or just an envelope filter) also played with a six string but i guess you could drop the tuning on a four string.

I believe he's using an AutoWah for the effect
