Tina Dickow – No Time to Sleep

Tabbed by Patrick P. Hansen (P.P.Hansino@hotmail.com)

Special thanks to Chris Nordberg for the chords

This is a way of playing the tabs for the No Time to Sleep verses and intro. They
may not be entirely correct but they fit the song
quite well so I found them useable for you guys

Enjoy.

Capo on fifth fret

        A C G Em
e|-----------------|-----------------|-----------------|-----------------|
B|--------------1--|--------------1--|--------------0--|--------------0--|
G|----------2------|----------0------|----------0------|----------0------|
D|--------2---2----|--------2---2----|--------0---0----|--------2---2----|
A|--0h2-0----------|--0h2-3----------|--3h2------------|-----------------|
E|-----------------|-----------------|------3----------|--3h2-0----------|

Pre-choruses and choruses are strummed normally

Intro
Am C G Em (x2)

Verse 1
Am C
Who's gonna sing the song of change
                G Em
If no one can imagine life outside the beaten track
Am C
And who's gonna stop a running train
                     G Em
If no one cares to dwell or no one wants to look back

Pre-chorus 1
Am C
Somewhere along the line you gave up askin'
Am C G
When it got a little too complex
Am C
But if you don't question what has been
         Am D Em
Does it mean that you don't care what's coming next

Chorus 1
     C Em
You got no one to follow
       G Am
And no one will follow you
                C
Ain't that a relief?
     C Em G Am
That everything and everyone must grow in opposition
To resistance and contradiction
                              C
This ain't no time to go to sleep
                              Am
This ain't no time to go to sleep
                              C
This ain't no time to go to sleep
                              Am
This ain't no time to go to sleep
                              G
This ain't no time to go to sleep

Verse 2
So who's gonna sing the song faith
If no one prays for anything that can't be bought and sold
And who's gonna tell the story straight
Does anyone believe there's still a story to be told

Pre-chorus 2
Somewhere along the line you just stopped walking
When the undercurrent got too strong
Some day a lonely busker will come knocking
With a soft and long forgotten song

Chorus 2
'Cause you got no one to follow
And no one will follow you
Ain't that a relief?
That everything and everyone must grow in opposition
To resistance and contradiction
This ain't no time to go to sleep

This ain't no time to go to sleep
This ain't no time to go to sleep
This ain't no time to go to sleep
This ain't no time to go to sleep

This ain't no time to go to sleep
This ain't no time to go to sleep
This ain't no time to go to sleep
Oh, this ain't no time to go to sleep

The fingerpicking pattern for the intro and verses is like this:

Am Am C C
e|---------------|---------------|---------------|---------------|
B|-------1-------|---------------|---------1-----|---------------|
G|-----------2---|-----2-------0-|-------------0-|-----0-------0-|
D|---2-----2-----|---2-------0---|---0h2-----2---|---2-------0---|
A|-0---0---------|-0-----0h2-----|-3-----3-------|-3-----3p2-----|
E|---------------|---------------|---------------|---------------|

G G Em Em
e|---------------|---------------|---------------|---------------|
B|-------0-------|---------------|-------0-------|---------------|
G|-----------0---|-----0-------0-|-----------0---|-----0-------0-|
D|---0-----0-----|---0-------0---|---2-----2-----|---1-------1---|
A|---------------|---------------|---------------|-------0h2-----|
E|-3---3---------|-3-----3p2-----|-0---0---------|-0-------------|
