If I Have To Go
lp: Orphans: Bawlers (2006)

F# F#/B F#4/G# F#/C# F#

F# F#/B F#4/G# F#8/C# F# (5)
And if I have to go, will you remember me?
F# F#/B F#4/G# F#/C# F#
Will you find someone else, while I'm away?
G#m/B F#/A#
There's nothing for me, in this world full of strangers
    G#m F# (5)
It's all someone else's idea
G#m/B F#/A#
I don't belong here, and you can't go with me
G#m E C#
You'll only slow me down

(C#) (F#4/G#) F#8/C# F# (5)
Until I send for you, don't wear your hair that way
(F#) (F#4/G#) F#/C# F#
If you cannot be true, I'll understand
G#m/B F#/A#
Tell all the others, you'll hold in your arms
    G#m F# (5)
That I said I'd come back for you
G#m/B F#/A#
I'll leave my jacket to keep you warm
      G#m E C#
That's all that I can do

(C#) (F#4/G#) F#8/C# F# (5)
And if I have to go, will you remember me?
(F#) (F#4/G#) F#/C# F#
Will you find someone else, while I'm away?

F# F#/B F#4/G# F#/C# F# (5)
F# F#/B F#4/G# F#/C# F#

This tab is obviously correct. Tom seems to like playing the black keys, so like many of his songs, if you play it on guitar it's easy to put a capo on the first fret and play this one in C, which is C# in reality. For the purist who would never use a capo, the song is a bit more difficult.

Could someone please simplify this tab for a simpleton like me? I want to play it on guitar, thanks.
