Song:   Dave's gone skieing
artist: Toto
album:  the seventh one
autor:  Ramondo Kok (The Netherlands)

A cool song for Bass, Guitar drum and definitly keyboard
If you like this song then you definitly got to listen to
Liquid tension experiment; 1, Dreamtheather; scene of a memory
and a change of seasons and Symphony-X; twilight in olympus
get the timing real tight or else it will sound like shit if everything
issent exact
I never knew TOTO had such an increadeble base player, he plays exactly
in the style of John Myung and Tony Levin: following of guitar and a lot
of slides
i have written it for a five string but you can play it on a four string
after altering a few parts, even then it still will have its power

/s  = slide up
\s  = slide down
 X  = death note
 .  = accented mote
~~  = longer ringing note
*   = repeat this part
*
h   = hammer on
p   = pull off

Congratulations (to the author) on working out this tune, its a tough monkey. Just a quick note though to say that this bass player is Mike Porcaro, who is the brother of late great legendary toto drummer Jeff Porcaro. The album this is taken from is actually Tambu (not The seventh one)---The first album recorded after Jeff died and features the amazing Simon Phillips on Kit. The author of the tab accurately draws parallels between the skills of Mike Porcaro and John Myung and Tony Levin, but i feel i must point out that Mike Porcarop has been playing with Toto since the tour of Toto IV bavk in 1985 (i think) when john myung was still crunching scales at berklee---if here was even there yet. It is important not to forget that as amazing as john myung is if anything he should be referred to in terms of Mike being evident in his style and not the other way around.

Great tab, and I totally agree, though I believe Mike Porcaro joined Toto in 1982 after the release of Toto IV, and Mike did play cello on 'Good For You' from Toto IV, he was sort of an 'unofficial member' before 1982 :)
