you tune your bass down 1/2 step then get a book because this is completely wrong

its been written in half step drop AND THEN drop D so the E string has gone down three semitones and the A D and G have gone down one

dude, this is right, but the tuning isn't its tuned a half step down like the guitar. If you dont want to tune a 1/2 step down you can just play 1 note up on the fretboard. It will be different for open notes though.
