The first two bars of the verses alternate between G and G6, but the bass plays a
high "e" underneath, so the second chord could be interpreted as Em. Whatever
one calls the chord, I wouldn't suggest playing a standard Em shape (0-2-2-0-0-0)
because the "e" is just hinted at in the bass line and the guitars do not follow
this "hint" with a full blown chord change. To my ears, the G and the following
G6/Em chord have a lot in common, so I wouldn't highlight the subtle difference
too much by using a full Em voicing - the hint is enough to me (see my playing
suggestion for the verse pattern in the tab section below). I use the chord name
G6/E just to remind the player of this. Check out different options and settle
on the one that satisfies you most.
