                     DISCARDED - Wrinkle Neck Mules
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Tabbed by: A.J. Conner
E-mail: ajconner123@gmail.com

Tuning: Standard

Sixth song on the album. This song features a mandolin playing the main riff,
but I have tabbed the riff for guitar. Like other songs on the album, this one
has a little walk up riff that is often played right before going into a chord.
In this instance it's played before playing the G chord in the verse and is
played as follows:

E|--0-2-3--| Simple enough.

You can also walkup from Am to C in the chorus of the song by playing this:

A|--0-2-3--|

CHORDS USED:

Am: x02210
F: xx3211
G: 320033
C: x32010
E: 022100

MAIN RIFF (Play three times in intro):

e|---------------------------------------------------------------------------|
B|---------------------------------------------------------------------------|
G|-----------------------------------5---------------------------------------|
D|----------2-2-2-3-3/5-2-3/7-7-7-7----7-------------------------------------|
A|--0-0-0-3------------------------------------------------------------------|
E|---------------------------------------------------------------------------|

The chords that are played overtop of the riff are as follows
(each line represents one cycle of the riff):

Am G
Am F G Am
Am

Next play the walkup riff followed by these chords:

G F Am

VERSE:

      Am G F G Am
It's hard and uneasy, livin' in this skipped over town
Am G F G Am
Once was called a music city since has been scaled down

(MAIN RIFF 1x)

G F Am

VERSE 2:

     Am G F G Am
The oil that once was pavement, the mud that once was brick
     Am G F G Am
Engulfs the gossamer river like hot wax on a wick

CHORUS:

      C G
What once was grey is now greyer,
      F E
What once was cloudy is gone
    Am G
The streets are all layered
      F G Am
With discarded honky tonk songs
   F G Am
Discarded honky tonk songs

(MAIN RIFF 3x)

G F Am

VERSE 3 LYRICS (Same chords as other VERSES):

Am G
Everyone fears the color scarlet
       F G Am
With a misguided prejudice
Am G
They all point their crooked little fingers
        F G Am
At the high school reading list

(MAIN RIFF 1x)

G F Am

SOLO:

Am G F G Am
Am G F G Am
C G F E
C G F G Am

(CHORUS)

(MAIN RIFF 3x)

G F Am

END

"See my mule don't like people laughin'. Gets the crazy
idea you're laughin' at him. Now if you apologize like
I know you're going to, I might convince him that you
really didn't mean it."
