He is doubleing up playing 2 strings at a time on the intro, not just one. This would work though. Check my tab out. I have seen the intro played 3 different ways and I tabbed um all out. See which one you like best.

your tab is in a way right but dont get too happy about being right because aron444 is acually right. It is hard to hear the harmony along with the melody sometimes and that is what through you off on this song. Trust me, i'v been through off several times but listening to the twining in the allman brothers songs helped me key in on the harmony.
