Read Your Mind – Vonda Shepard

C G Am
C G Dm

C G Am
We held hands and laughed
         Dm C
Then we jumped in the water
         G Dm
Off the jetty we'd fly
         F C
As the sun got hotter
      G Am
We were any age
     F C
Floating through space
G Dm G
Happy for once in the human race
           C Dm G
On this sweet Sunday, and into Monday
     C G
Your arms wrapped around me
Am Dm
Where my love has found me
Am Dm
Has finally found me
  F C
But am I really free?

C G Am
If I could read your mind
  F C
I hope I'd find
G Dm C
The same love I have in mine
           G Am
If I could go back in time
F C
I'd try to find you
Dm F Am
And make up for all this wasted time

C G Am
Like a broken record
      Dm C
I've stayed protected
G Dm C
From promises, from disappointments
   G Am C
I wanna hear your dreams, wanna drift away
        G D
Wanna break you in
F G
Oh I wanna stay
    C G
Stay in heaven, oh in heaven
     C G
And see my life finally begin
             C Dm
Will we be together, oh forever?
          Am C
Darling please let me in

C G Am
If I could read your mind
  F C
I hope I'd find
G Dm C
The same love I have in mine
           G Am
If I could go back in time
     F C
I'd try to find you
     Dm F Am
And make up for all this wasted time

      F G Dm G
Oh I want to stay in this sweet Sunday, and into Monday
      C G
Your arms wrapped around me
Am Dm
Where my love has found me
Am Dm
Has finally found me
    F C
But am I really free?

C G Am
If I could read your mind
   F C
I hope I'd find
 G Dm C
The same love I have in mine
           G Am
If I could go back in time
    F C
I'd try to find you
    Dm F Am
And make up for all this wasted time

Na, na, na , na, na...

C G Am
If I could read your mind

The chords sound good for the song but they are not what is played on the actual album.

of course they're not...what sounds good on an album doesn't always sound good in acoustic :)

Lol - sorry, I don't mean to be contrary, but the song *is* acoustic, in that the guitar part is acoustic. I'm working on figuring out the song based on the piano sheet music and while the chords are pretty crazy (the song is in Eb - the first chord is Cm) if you capo it on 1 and play the first chord as Bm the rest of the chords are basic forms, it sounds great on acoustic, and it fits the CD. :D
