The Internationale is a left-wing anthem recognized by socialists, communists, & anarchists the world over.
The original French lyrics were written ny Anarchist Eugene Pottier and set to an original melody
composed by Pierre De Geyter, a Marxist. It has been translated in to many different langgages.

This version is the one played by Alistair Hulett.
He plays it in Celtic Tuning (DADGAD) with a capo on the 3rd fret, in the Key of F.

With the strings tuned DADGAD, the shapes required are:
D - 000200, D3 - 004200, D5 - 050200
A7 - X02002 or A7sus4 - X02000 or A5 - XO2202
Em7 - 222020 (barre the two lowest strings with 1st finger)
Gsus2 - 550000, G3 - X20020

You can also play it in Drop D tuning (DADGBE) or simply use standard tuning
with a normal G instead of a Gsus2. Up to you. DAGAD is the easiest option I think.

D3 A7 Gsus2 G3 Gsus2 D5 (x2)

[Verse 1]

D A7 Gsus2
Arise ye workers from your slumbers
  A D
Arise ye prisoners of want
           A7 Gsus2
For reason in revolt now thunders
      A D
And at last ends the age of cant.
Gsus2 A7 D
Away with all your superstitions
Gsus2 Em7 A7
Servile masses arise, arise
                                  D
We'll change henceforth the old tradition
A7
And spurn the dust to win the prize.

[Chorus]

D Gsus2
So comrades, come rally
        A7 D
And the last fight let us face
D3 A7 Gsus2 A7 Em7 A7
The Internationale unites the human race.
   D Gsus2

[Verse 2]

D A7 Gsus2
No more deluded by reaction
   A D
On tyrants only we'll make war
            A7 Gsus2
The soldiers too will take strike action
              A D
They'll break ranks and fight no more
Gsus2 A7 D
And if those cannibals keep trying
   Gsus2 Em7 A7
To sacrifice us to their pride
                                 D
They soon shall hear the bullets flying
A7
We'll shoot the generals on our own side.

[Verse 3]

D A7 Gsus2
No saviour from on high delivers
   A D
No faith have we in prince or peer
             A7 Gsus2
Our own right hand the chains must shiver
         A D
Chains of hatred, greed and fear
Gsus2 A7 D
E'er the thieves will out with their booty
Gsus2 Em7 A7
And give to all a happier lot.
                                D
Each at the forge must do their duty
A7
And we'll strike while the iron is hot.
