IMPORTANT PERFORMANCE NOTES:1) CHORDS MATTER - I saw Don Henley perform this new song live at the Summit in
Houston, TX in 1989 w/ his band and they had Capo's clipped at the 2nd fret.
The reason for this was because that is how the song was written and recorded
2) There are certain tones and nuances that you don't hear in the incorrect
"D" shape No Capo versions that have become the accepted way to play this now
classic song so I created here the correct Capo II version
3) Standard Tuning
4) ALL GUITARS HAVE A CAPO CLIPPED AT THE SECOND FRET
5) Don employ's a 6 String and a 12 String Electric Guitar on this recording
6) You MUST emphesize the B and high E strings fingered at the 1rst and 3rd fret
in the Bridge and let them ring out thru-out to get the proper interpretation
7) If you REALLY want to sound like the record have a second 6 string Guitar play

Oh, my Lord, this is superb. After learning the tune via the "Official" version in D with some really spot-on chord changes, I glanced at this version. You've got this thing nailed into the coffin. I can hear this one come alive underneath my fingers as I played back the .mp3, and it's just glorious! Goose bumps! Thank you for the many hours you invested in this. It's obviously a work of love, and I know just enough to understand your nuances. I see you edited this in 2022, or I wouldn't have been brave enough to send you my thanks (as it was constructed back in 1990). So, 34 years ago you put this into UG? Am I understanding this correctly? I almost missed this version, as it was buried at the bottom of the versions on the UG versions listing. You, sir, deserve a crown, not a measly 5-star rating.😎😇
