Me again ! I came to something very interesting fooling around with my dobro in open G (DGDGBD) with capo on 2nd fret (like an open A as well : EAEAC#E). Sounds very good and very natural to play (the notes are quite the sames as yours) :
E |------------|
C#|------------|
A |------------|
E |-4--5--5--5-|
A |-2--0--0--3-|
E |-0--3--5--0-|

Very, very interesting but not completely accurate : the Am/C is wrong. In fact the name of the chord is OK but you can’t play the C note on the B string. The A minor wouldn’t fit the tune. It sound minor because of the C bass but it can’t be minor. That’s probably the genius mistake of that song. It’s neither minor nor major. So I suggest a A5/C or a Asus2/C to fit with the C bass. But throughout the song I think you can play regular major A.

Hey, why is this tab so underrated? I came here to post a similar tab when I saw that it already exists! I hadn't even noticed it because it had no stars. If you don't want to play the intro forget it but, please, really, do take a try the chord positions below the "It sounds best…" (especially the Gsus2 it changes everything!)
