Two ways to play:

Method 1: Play on the first string (original).

Strum the first string 8 times @ Fret 8, Fret 11, Fret 4, Fret 6.

This will be a lower pitch than the original song, tune up if you want to match the pitch.

Method 2: 4 Chords - Am, C, F, G.

I like to play all the chords without the 1st, 5th, or 6th string as it keeps the deepness of the chord
progression.

I.e. only play the 2nd, 3rd, and 4th strings of each chord.

[Verse 1]

Am C
Face first in the public pool
F G
Swerved off the interstate one night
Am C
Hurts most once you're home from school
F G
You'd quit this out of spite
        Am C
There's so many ways to call it a day
         F G
When you don't know where to go
             Am
Just let the little guy bright
       C
In the crosswalk light
             F G
Guide you to where you need to go

Am
Sometimes it's fortune
C
Sometimes it's fate
         F G
When you just miss the green light
                  Am
Well, something's keeping you safe
           C
While it's making you late
       F G
It's a wonder that you've made it all this time

[Interlude]
Am C F G

[Verse 2]

Am C
At best you're the shape of you
F G Am
In shadows on blinding flood light fields
                C
That green apple shampoo
F G
You're sculpted Babybel peels
Am C
You're dryer steam, you're someone's wet dream
F G
Ice cream for a meal
Am C
You're singalongs to Christmas songs

Or a dog at your heels

Am C F G x 2

Sleep long for the sheet prints it leaves on my face
               F G
Tomorrow isn't promised, but I woke today
               Am C
I don't really care how long I get to stay
   F G Am C
So long as I'm gone once I've felt everything
   F G Am C
So long as I'm gone once I've felt everything
   F G Am C F G
So long as I'm gone once I've felt everything

La-la-la, la-la-la-la, la-la
