Can anybody explain how I'm supposed to play that first chord? I've been trying to figure this out for months now, and I can't find any information on the name of the chord, or how to finger it. I would greatly appreciate it, as this seems to be the best tab around for this song.

It's an A major bar chord. Your index finger "bars" the entire 5th fret. Your ring finger and pinky finger both play the 7th fret on the 5 and 4th strings respectively (ring finger on top, pinky finger below). Then your middle finger plays the 6th fret beneath the pinky. If you've never played a bar chord before this can be quite difficult as most Sublime songs use bar chords especially the acoustic songs. Keep practicing.

that tab looks off for the first bar chord. like the original commenter said, it looks off. Shouldn't it be 556775? not 554665? maybe im not understanding bar chords, but i assume the lowest note on the frets is barred and the rest "respectively" added?
