The song is definitely in Drop D. I think it's in Double Drop D. Having a D
on the high string makes the riff easier to play later on when things get
faster.
 
I'm certain there is a bass guitar layered on here, (listen closely to the solos)
which makes some of the verse portions, e.g. 0:19, hard to transcribe. I've spent
a lot of hours analyzing it, playing it and listening to the song at different
speeds using software. I've transcribed to the best of my ability, and feel like
it's spot on.
 
As for the solos, e.g. 1:20, I play them on the lower strings. It's sounds better
and I think it's how it should be. Alternatively, you could play it like this
so you can play closer to the main riff's location:

Awesome song by the keys and awesome tab as well
This tab sounds right, but... IMHO the song is originally played in D Standard tuning, because I tried to play it in D Standard tuning and it was much easier and sounded well. Try out to pick it in D Standard tuning, use the blues scale and licks from the "Heavy Soul" from TBK's "Moan" EP. It's so fun to play this song like this.
Good tab, thanks for all the hard work! My thinking and ears have led me to playing the tune in open "D" minor tuning, D A D F A D, i love how the guitar just rings through this song in that tonality, Skip James uses this exact tuning in "Hard Time Killing Floor Blues".
