The original is obviously in open G. In standard tuning, I suggest playing Dsus2 and Csus2 in the verse, this is basically D and C without the middle finger. For the Bm, at least when picking, keep the G string open and don't play the high E string. You'll get exactly what Keith is playing in open G (that's index on B note, ring on F# and middle on D, plus the G open). A bit hard at first, and not sure what the name of the chord is.
