   / Tool / This song is about the fundamental stupidity of man when
  / Right in Two / it kills itself in wars and such, because it's sometimes
 / 10,000 days / doesn't see past things as greed, power, blood and
/_______________/ everything else that ever caused a conflict. Note Maynard's
                  lovely religious style here, he's genius!

*                                                                       *
* These are the time signatures for the verses: *
*                                                                       *
*    3/4            2/4                                                 *
*   | Dm | Bb | Gm | Cadd9 |                                            *
*                                                                       *
* The most logical way of counting this would be to count 1-2-3 *
* four times, but then skip the last beat the 4th time. *
* It could be notated like this, just to make it clear what I mean: *
*                                                                       *
*     Dm            Bb            Gm            Cadd9                   *
*   | 1 + 2 + 3 + | 1 + 2 + 3 + | 1 + 2 + 3 + | 1 + 2 + |               *
*                                                                       *

   Dm            Bb        Gm  Cadd9
   Angels on the sideline
   Dm          Bb      Gm  Cadd9
   Puzzled and amused
                  Dm                Bb          Gm  Cadd9
   Why did Father give these humans free will?
   Dm                 Bb     Gm  Cadd9
   Now they're all confused

   Dm Bb Gm Cadd9 Dm Bb Gm Cadd9
   Don't these talking monkeys know that Eden has enough to go around?
   Dm             Bb           Gm
   Plenty in this holy garden, silly monkeys
   Cadd9                    Dm         Bb       Gm
   Where there's one you're bound to divide it
   Cadd9    Dm
   Right in two

*The following three verses just follow that same chord progression*

   Angels on the sideline
   Baffled and confused
   Father blessed them all with reason
   And this is what they choose?

   Monkey killing monkey killing monkey over pieces of the ground
   Silly monkeys give them thumbs, they forge a blade
   And where there's one they're bound to divide it
   Right in two
   Right in two

   Monkey killing monkey killing monkey
   Over pieces of the ground
   Silly monkeys
   Give them thumbs, they make a club and beat their brother down

   Dm Bb Gm Cadd9 D Bb Gm C
   How they survive so misguided is a mystery
     Dm Bb Gm Cadd9 D Bb
   Repugnant is a creature who would squander the ability to lift an eye to heaven
             Gm              Gsus2
   Conscious of his fleeting time here

*************************************************************
*                                                           *
* For the chorus herethe timing is a bit more tricky: *
*                                                           *
*    3/4  4/4            4/4                                *
*   | Dm | Bbsus2 Csus2 | Gadd9 |                           *
*                                                           *
* I would count it like this: *
*                                                           *
*     Dm            Bbsus2    Csus2     Gadd9               *
*   | 1 + 2 + 3 + | 1 + 2 + | 1 + 2 + | 1 + 2 + 3 + 4 + |   *
*                                                           *
*************************************************************

   Dm         Bbsus2 Csus2    Gadd9
   Cut it all over right in two
   Dm         Bbsus2 Csus2    Gadd9
   Cut it all over right in two
   Dm         Bbsus2 Csus2    Gadd9
   Cut it all over right in two
   Dm         Bbsus2 Csus2    Gadd9
   Cut it all over right in two

*For the next verse, there aren't really any chords for as such.
 It's very riff-based, so the most chordy thing I could come up
 with would be something like this. The timing is as the verses:

 3/4            2/4
| Dm | Dm | Dm | Cadd9 |

   Fight over clouds
   Over earth
   Over sky
   And fight over lie
   Over blood
   Over anything
   Fight over love
   Over sun
   Over nothing
   Fight till they die
   Over what?
   For their ending

   Angels on the sideline again
   Benched along with patience and reason
   Angels on the sideline again
   Wondering when this tug of war will end

   Cut it all over right in two
   Cut it all over right in two
   Cut it all over right in two
   Right in two
   Right in two

This is amazing, I never would've thought you could do this with a Tool song. My only suggestion is that you make the C a Cadd9. That way you can turn the chords into arpeggios that sound like the song.

Thanks for the chords...why is it so common though, to only write out one verse and then let the lyrics stand there unnoted?
